YOUTH ALIYA

Youth Aliya was originally founded in 1933 to rescue Jewish youth from Nazi Germany. As a result of its efforts, some 5,000 teenagers were spared the horrors of the Holocaust and brought to Israel to be educated at Youth Aliya boarding schools. After the war they were joined by an additional 15,000 youngsters, many of them orphans who had survived the Holocaust. Today Youth Aliya villages continue to play a vital role in the absorption of young newcomers, as well as offering thousands of disadvantaged Israeli youth a second chance.
Today Youth Aliyah program sets Israel's disadvantaged children on the path to a successful future. Young immigrants and "at-risk" native Israelis receive education, enrichment programs, counseling and other supportive services in Youth Aliyah day centers, and youth villages.
