Berkeley Hadassah

Berkeley Hadassah conducts two major fundraisers from members each year: A Donor Dinner with a Major Speaker and a Big Gifts event. Many of us are Life Members so we don't need to pay dues after our initial $360. There are other donation opportunities such as Young Judaea Rosh Hashanah appeal, cards, certificates, Minyanettes and luncheon for Young Judaea. If you visit the national web page, you can charge donations to any project you choose at any time.

The National Keepers of the Gate and the National Young Women/Young Leaders Departments have introduced a Young Keepers campaign. YOUNG KEEPERS OF THE GATE will become Keepers of the Gate and receive their pin the first year. On your fifth anniversary as a Keeper, your name will be engraved on the magnificent Keepers of the Gate Wall at Kiryat Hadassah in Ein Kerem, Israel.

For the first year: $500.00
for the second year: $750.00
And finally, for the third year and thereafter: $1,000.00

Young Keepers provide the opportunity for women under 45 to become Keepers of the Gate at a reduced rate for the first two years and thereafter, donate an annual $1,000 gift for as long as they are able.

Joining this annual giving program is easy. Start by choosing from the following annual giving levels: $1,000, $1,800, $2,500, $3,600 or more.

Upon joining, National Hadassah sends you a delicately crafted sterling silver and 14K gold David's Harp pin designed by the prominent Israeli artist, Rachel Gera. Stones on the harp string will reflect your giving level. (Did you notice the four attendees who were wearing their Keepers pin at our Mediscope lunch in April at the JCC?)

A few years ago Berkeley chapter began a more flexible philanthropic group at half the donation commitment. We now have nine Berkeley 500 members in our chapter who donate at least $500 to Hadassah each year. They give $500 at their convenience during the Hadassah year or the tax year. Their donation qualifies for chapter events such as the Donor, Bigger Gifts and Minyanettes, so Berkeley 500 members need only pay the cost of a meal (couvert) to attend.

Some of you already donate near, or above, this level to Hadassah. Why not consider becoming a BERKELEY 500 member, and be able to designate your annual donation to whichever Hadassah programs you wish, and know that Hadassah will benefit from the knowledge that your supportive dollars will be there year after year?

Todah Rabah to the generous women who belong to Hadassah's Berkeley 500.
